Being part of the class Gastropoda means that they have a soft and unsegmented body that may be covered with some form of protection. For snails, this means a shell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They have a foot at the base of their body that is very muscular and allows them to travel. They secret a mucus from the foot to help them slide along easier.
