However, most substrate can cause impaction if your Beardie accidentally digests it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, some substrate might accidentally be inhaled, causing respiratory issues. Or, your Beardie might get it in their eye, causing other problems.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, substrate is difficult for you to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, stay away from the following flooring options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Sand (or sand mats)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pebbles (or small rocks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Walnut Shells<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wood Chips<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coconut Fiber<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calcium Powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, consider the following options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reptile-carpet\">Reptile Carpet<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This particular carpet is soft and easy to clean. You can have more than one so that when you take it out to clean, you can immediately put the other one in so your Beardie is never without flooring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s no way your Bearded Dragon can accidentally eat it, scratch their belly, or get it in their eye. So, this is one of the best options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tile\">Tile<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tile is another good option. It\u2019s easy to wipe clean, and the smooth surface will be easy for your lizard to walk upon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to get a dark-colored tile so that it absorbs the heat from the lamps.
